Arhroscopic Knee Surgery

Mr Nakhla performs a large volume of arthroscopic knee surgeries to treat all aspects of sports surgery derangements of the knee. He also has significant experience in arthroscopic surgery following joint replacement.

Meniscal repair:

The meniscus acts as a shock absorber in the knee and improves the joint surfaces. It is very common to sustain an injury and a tear of the medial or lateral meniscus. Whenever possible Mr Nakhla, preserves the meniscus by repairing it rather than excising it. This is aprticularly important for young, active patients. Repairing the meniscus improves the knee function and reduces the risk of arthritis on the long term.

Arthroscopic Menisectomy:

Depending on the type and location of the meniscal tear, not all meniscal tears are reparable. Mr Nakhla’s experience allows him to determine which meniscal tears to repair and which ones to excise reducing the risk of failure and saving patients re-do surgery.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are common sport injuries. Treatment options depends on the degree of instability and the level of sports you want to go back to. Physiotherapy and VMO strengthening are key to achieving excellent results. Mr Nakhla performs arthroscopic anatomical ACL reconstructions enabling his patients to get back to their desired high level sports.
